Life goes on. You start work. You buy a house. You get married. You have children. They leave home. You retire! It is a long and winding road, and each of those life event – and others – necessitates a thorough review of your financial set-up.
That is why we value the long-term relationships that we build with our clients. Only by knowing your history and sharing a vision for your future can we really advise you from a position of knowledge. And only in that way can you talk to us candidly and trustingly.
Many brokers will claim to offer ‘whole of market,’ but that may just mean that they offer every kind of product, but that they are all from the same institution. Independent means that we can offer every kind of product from every institution.
Sometimes it seems that there are almost as many financial advisers as there are financial products. Why should you choose us. We think there are many reasons of course, but among the most important are the following:
This last is perhaps the most important. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If we did not give our customers great service, they simply would not return.

Advisors generally charge in one of three ways: a percentage fee of 1-3% based on the total value of the assets they manage for you. Or a fixed fee: a flat, one-off fee depending on the complexity of your financial plan. Or an hourly rate, billed for the time spent researching and drafting your customised plan. Your financial adviser should discuss and inform you off all fees before any work is undertaken. Generally, no charge is made for the initial meeting.
Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) have access to the entire market, allowing them to recommend products from any provider, whilst Restricted Advisors can only recommend products from a select panel of providers or specific product types.
In the UK, you should look for advisors holding a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipFP) or higher, such as the Advanced Diploma. Furthermore, use the FCA Financial Services Register to verify that the firm and individual are officially authorised to provide financial advice.
